The “Friends of Bulgarian Golf” аssociation and the Bulgarian golf association are launching a large-scale European project called GOLF 4 CIRCULARITY (Project: 101133954 — GOLF 4 CIRCULARITY — ERASMUS-SPORT-2023), co-funded by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union. The project aims to create innovative youth education on circular economy through the sport of golf. The project is implemented in partnership with seven key organizations in sports, education, and science. The project coordinator is the “Friends of Golf” association in collaboration with the Bulgarian, Austrian, Icelandic, and Macedonian golf associations, the University of Thessaloniki, Greece, and the Circular Economy Research Center – CERC, France. The project will develop and pilot an innovative sustainable sports-educational model at the European level for golf clubs with the goal of promoting mass participation in the sport.
The model aims to encourage education on circular economy and sustainability through golf, focusing primarily on a) supporting the development of skills in mass golf, b) promoting dual careers for talented coaches and athletes, c) enhancing the quality of coaching and club management training, and d) promoting employment through golf. The project is targeted at golf coaches, club managers, and golf players aged 14-19 residing in 20 European municipalities.
